The Cambridge Norwich Tech Corridor Initiative is a private-public partnership set up to accelerate technology based economic growth by making a strategic case to government for continued investment in the area and simultaneously supporting and creating an environment in which businesses, investors and people can grow and thrive.
The Tech Corridor initiative aims to join up, showcase and promote the strengths and assets within the Cambridge Norwich Tech Corridor area and its surroundings to encourage collaboration around key growth opportunities, build a strong regional ecosystem of technology businesses and together with businesses, identify and address challenges facing the businesses community.
WHAT CAN THE TECH CORRIDOR DO FOR YOU?
Showcase and Promote
The Cambridge Norwich Tech Corridor is home to world-leading research institutes, top universities and exciting businesses in a wide range of sectors. However, our assets are spread across a fairly large geographical area and the opportunities for growth are not always joined up or communicated to businesses.
The Tech Corridor initiative aims to ‘join the dots’, to proactively promote the strengths, assets and opportunities throughout the Corridor area and build a brand and identity for the Tech Corridor as one connected ‘tech cluster’ that deliver clean, efficient economic growth across different sectors and is a destination of choice for investors, global technology companies and skilled workforce.
The initiative showcases, celebrates and promotes the strengths and successes of businesses, research, organisations and locations within the wider Tech Corridor area to raise awareness of our assets and capabilities, promote our area nationally and internationally and ultimately support investment and growth within the Corridor.
Addressing Challenges & Providing a Joined-up Voice
The Tech Corridor initiative aims to bring together businesses and stakeholders from across the wider Tech Corridor to address the key challenges to growth within the Corridor, such as skills, infrastructure, innovation and connectivity.
As an entity, the Tech Corridor initiative can work across traditional jurisdictions with a range of stakeholders from private and public sectors to identify key challenges and opportunities for investment to unlock growth and provide a joined-up strategy and voice to government for support.
The initiative work with, and for, its stakeholders to communicate and drive key issues and help identify ‘Corridor solutions’ for ‘Corridor problems’.
One of the key strengths of the Cambridge Norwich Tech Corridor area is its complementary sectors and ecosystems of research and innovation facilities, commercialisation and production capabilities and customers to benefit from new products and services.
Building on these strengths, the Tech Corridor initiative aims to enable and support networks for cross-sector collaboration, innovation and technology convergence around key opportunities such as Regional Supply Chains, Clean Growth and Industry 4.0 . As a test-bed for adoption of technology-based solutions to address new markets and improve productivity, Tech Corridor businesses has the opportunity to come together to gain a competitive edge.
