Introduction

This document provides background on the Cambridge Norwich Tech Corridor initiative (the Tech Corridor) for potential Delivery Board applicants. It should be read in conjunction with the Board Member criteria document, which outlines the criteria used in the appointment of new board members.

Background to the Tech Corridor

The Cambridge Norwich Tech Corridor is a private-public partnership initiated by Breckland District Council, Broadland District Council Cambridgeshire County Council, East Cambridgeshire District Council, Forest Heath District Council, New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership, Norfolk County Council, Norwich City Council, South Norfolk Council, St Edmundsbury Borough Council and Suffolk County Council.

The initiative was set up to support a strategic approach to investment and growth throughout the Tech Corridor area and to work alongside other public and private sector initiatives.

Membership of the Tech Corridor Delivery Board

The Tech Corridor Delivery Board comprises businesses leaders, education representatives and local authority leaders. The Delivery Board was set up to support the development of the strategy, support the development of activities and initiatives and oversees the work of the Operational Group.

The Delivery Board is chaired by a private sector representative and reports to the Leaders/Chief Execs Group.

Private sector board members are drawn from across Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire ensures a spread of representation of our key sectors and varying sizes of employers.

Members are selected through an open call for nominations and a process for selection agreed by the Leader/Chief Execs Group. Candidates are shortlisted based on the selection criteria and shortlisted candidates will be interviewed by a Tech Corridor panel prior to appointment.
