The Cambridge Norwich Tech Corridor area is home to a unique a mix of both high-quality tech firms, world-leading research and a large agri-food industry making it ideally placed for Agri-tech and Food Science businesses looking to innovate, collaborate and grow. There is an existing, significant food science cluster based around Norwich Research Park (NRP), and ongoing collaborations between the NRP and the University of Cambridge that connects Food Tech and the Life Sciences.
The Agri-tech and Food Science sector in the Tech Corridor has seen significant growth in recent years (6.1% pa compared to 0.29% pa for the UK as a whole) and productivity levels are considerably higher than the UK average.
The Tech Corridor initiative aims to support the existing Agri-tech cluster and businesses and support increased collaboration between the Agri-tech and Food Science sector and other sectors within the Corridor area to support innovation and build regional supply chains.
