Productivity East is a £7.4 million pound initiative that will provide new state-of-the-art facilities on UEA’s campus to deliver a new regional hub for engineering, technology and management.

The initiative will support businesses by enabling them to work alongside our world-leading researchers and enterprising students to discover practical solutions to current and future challenges. Productivity East will provide workshops dedicated to advanced robotics and CNC, a 3D printing studio, a digital design lab and a shared studio space to educate the next generation of digitally-minded engineers. Working in partnership, UEA students, academics and businesses will be able to explore new ideas, develop prototype designs and create innovative products and services.

Key benefits to business include:

  • Developing new engineering and productivity solutions
  • Training highly skilled engineering graduates
  • Upskilling and retraining the workforce
  • Delivering cutting edge engineering and productivity research
  • Creating collaborative networks

As well as UEA investment, Productivity East benefits from a £4.5 million contribution from the New Anglia LEP’s Growth Deal with the government. The New Anglia Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering (NAAME) and TechEast industry sector groups will be key delivery partners.
