Tech Corridor Rising Stars Foundries.io and Pickr recognised by Tech Nation

Two Tech Corridor businesses tasted success in the final of Tech Nation's Rising Stars competition, which recognises UK tech's most exciting up-and-coming businesses.

Cambridge-based Foundries.io was one of ten winners selected by a panel of judges from the Rising Stars 2020 cohort at the final, which was held in London on Wednesday, February 12.

Pickr also enjoyed a night to remember, with the Norwich innovator scooping the The Microsoft Diversity and Inclusion Award.

Esme Caulfield, competitions lead at Tech Nation, said: “It’s incredibly exciting to see how the Tech Nation Rising Stars competition has grown in the last year.  The standard of companies from all parts of the UK has been impressive at every stage. Foundries.io is addressing security and device management for IoT and Edge devices. FoundriesFactory is a self-service cloud solution that provides turnkey services to develop, secure, deploy and maintain embedded IoT and Edge compute products. They enable secure IoT devices and provide lifetime software maintenance at a fraction of current costs.

They and the nine other winners will receive a prize package aimed at helping the winners grow, scale and build their networks. It includes a business plan diagnostic, delivered by accounting and business advisory firm, BDO, pitch training and coaching by Sunderland Software City and speaking opportunities, thought leadership and press through the Tech Nation network.

Stream-lining the recruitment process

Pickr is a digital skilled industrial staffing platform that helps businesses to reduce the costs of building and managing a flexible workforce. The company has digitally automated the recruitment process to eliminate the challenges associated with traditional agencies and personal referrals.
