Norwich entrepreneur aims to clean up with car wash app GoWash

A Norwich entrepreneur is aiming to provide some digital polish for the car washing and valeting industry with his GoWash solution

GoWash aims to change the car-washing industry for the better by making it easier for customers to pay for services. Founder Jonny Billing also hopes it will provide greater transparency and cohesion to the industry in the process.

Users will be able to:

  • Search for sites near their location
  • View opening times, prices and facilities at the car wash
  • Pay through ApplePay, GooglePay and all major credit/debit cards
  • View/save your receipt

Norwich-based entrepreneur Jonny, a Tech Corridor ambassador, cut his teeth in the haulage industry working for Norfolk-based startup SNAP, which grew into a Europe-wide operation before being bought out by DCC. During his time with the company he launched ‘intruck’, the number one parking app for HGV drivers in the UK.

“We changed the haulage industry for the better, by removing cash and allowing HGV drivers to pay for parking and washing services through their licence plate,” he says.

“Over the last few years I have honed a skill for spotting issues in industries and finding solutions to fix them.

“In an age where payments are only a card or phone tap away, it baffles me that the car wash market hasn’t gone cashless.”

For car wash owners, Jonny believes the GoWash app can help with struggles of running their site day-to-day by streamlining the payment process, so they can focus on other areas to develop their business.

“The sites have a fight on their hands every day to try to gain more customers as advertising is expensive,” says Jonny. “Being free to join, if registered before the February launch, car wash owners have nothing to lose by joining the GoWash app.”

GoWash is available on iOS and Android, and already has more than 200 sites signed up, with more to be added ahead of the launch.
