The Hethel Technology Park will build on the area’s existing expertise in advanced engineering and technology, already established through Lotus Cars and the highly successful technology cluster at the adjacent Hethel Engineering Centre.
The 20 hectare site is located to the South West of Norwich and just 3 miles from the main Cambridge to Norwich A11 dual carriageway. Hethel is located just 5 miles South of Norwich, 57 miles from Cambridge and circa 110 miles from London.
The new Technology Park will create a strategic employment site within Norfolk, specialising in advanced engineering and technology, providing:
- a Centre of Excellence e.g. Hubs for associated national Catapults including composites and advanced manufacturing;
- the opportunity to establish a cluster of partners and suppliers to the Lotus manufacturing and engineering facility;
- a means to drive excellence through supplier engagement, cutting edge engineering and the creation of an Engineering R&D Zone which focuses on engineering excellence and
- wrap around support for tenants including conference facilities, networking/collaboration opportunities and technical support
This is an opportunity for a developer to deliver a high profile Technology Park, including the construction design and build, with opportunities for B1 use associated with or supporting advance engineering/manufacturing and technology sectors.
The initial development phase will deliver an estimated 50,000 sq.m of workshop (80%), and office (20%). Workshops will range in size from 500 to 5000 sq.m and the office accommodation will range in size from 40 to 100 sq.m.
Subsequent phases should come on-stream as and when initial phase becomes occupied.
